Correlation between mild cognitive impairment and type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes

      Abstract: Objective: To study the relationship between mild cognitive impairment and type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes, in order to provide scientific basis for the early intervention of these groups. Methods: A total of 120 patients with T2DM、IGR and non-diabetes aged 60-80 years who visited Beijing Hepingli Hospital from January to December 2018 were enrolled in the study,and analyzed by the field survey method. Result: The MoCA score in T2DM was lower than that in IGR(P<0.01) and in non-diabetes(P<0.01), in IGR was lower than that in non-diabetes(P<0.05).And the MoCA score was 26 when the threshold value for the diagnosis of MCI was determined,the incidence of MCI was significantly higher in T2DM group(65%) than in non-diabetes group(30%)(P<0.01).Logistic regression analysis showed that age,FBG and LDL were risk factors for MCI in T2DM group and IGR group,its OR value was 1.104(1.026~1.132,P<0.05) 、2.318(0.283~6.132,P<0.05)、3.382(1.613~8.206,P<0.05) and 2.001(1.296~2.134,P<0.05)、0.986(0.010~2.488,P<0.001)、2.682(1.983~5.751,P<0.05);The years of schooling in both groups were protective factors of MCI,and OR value was 1.688 (0.172~3.394,P<0.05) and 1.692 (0.187~3.412,P<0.05). Conclusion: 1.The risk of MCI was significantly elevated in T2DM,a trend that began in the prophase of diabetes,and we should pay attention to the cognitive state of IGR state and conduct the early intervention in order to slow down the occurrence of senile dementia.2.Age,FBG and LDL in T2DM and IGR patients were risk factors for MCI,while education level was a protective factor for MCI.
