Clinical analysis of plasma cystatin-C and 2-microglobulin levels in patients with overlap syndrome(OS)and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)

Abstract:
      【Abstract】 Objective To compare the serum levels of cystatin C(Cys-C) and ?2-microglobulin( β2-MG) in patients with overlap syndrome(OS) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),and to explore their diagnostic value in early renal injury. Method A total of 12 patients with OS were selected as observation group (group A) and 38 patients with COPD as control group (group B). The control group was divided into B1, B2 and B3 groups according to the degree of hypoxia.Pulmonary function and the levels of blood urea nitrogen(BUN), serum creatinine (Scr),Cys-C and β2-MG were measured, and the differences of each index were observed and the correlation was analyzed. Result The levels of COPD?assessment?test(CAT), PCO2, Cys-C and β2-MG in group A were higher than those in group B and PO2 was lower than that in group B,P<0.05. Correlation analysis: Cys-C and β2-MG were negatively correlated with PO2 and positively correlated with CAT. Subgroup analysis:The PO2 of group A was lower than that of control subgroup. Group A was statistically significant compared with group B1 and group B2 respectively. The PCO2 of group A was higher than that of control subgroup.The differences was all statistically significant.The levels of Cys-C and β2-MG in group A were higher than those in control subgroup. Group A was statistically significant compared with group B1 and group B2 respectively.But there was no statistical significance compared with group B3.There was a significant difference between B1, B2 and B3 groups in Cys-C.The level of β2-MG of the three groups :the differences was statistically significant between B1and B2, B1and B3, there was no difference between B2 and B3.There was no significant difference in other indexes. Conclusion Compared with COPD patients, OS patients had significantly anoxia and severe carbon dioxide retention,Cys-C and β2-MG were more elevated and closely related to hypoxia.
